Liebster Award

I can't believe I didn't post about this sooner, but my girl Sara over at Mauer Power, nominated me for the Liebster Award!!! Thank you so much, Sara, and I'm so glad you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it.

The Rules:

1. Thank the one who nominated you.
2. Write eleven things about yourself.
3. Nominate eleven promising bloggers who have less than 200 followers and tag them in your post.
4. Give them eleven questions to answer.
5. Do not tag back.

Here are my eleven things!

:::one:::
I moved to South Carolina on a whim back in December 2010. {It was actually a very thought out process, but I still picked up and moved, all by myself, with no job lined up...a little scary!} I always knew that one day I would live somewhere in the South where there are palm trees :)

:::two:::
Growing up, I HATED to read, but now I loveeee it. Anyone have any good book suggestions???

:::three:::
I have 31 first cousins. Yes, you read that right. My mom is one of 8 and my dad is one of 7 so I have a pretty huge family. Most of my fam is in Connecticut, but I also have family in New York, Maryland, Florida, Colorado, Tennessee, and Georgia.

:::four:::
I am a huge country music fan and I'm so happy that we have THREE country stations to choose from in Charleston as opposed to one back in CT.

:::five:::
I've been up and down the East Coast and to every state, but I've never been out west. I would love to do a cross-country road trip one day soon.

:::six:::
I'm not very punctual, ever.

:::seven:::
I'm a shopaholic, but I rarely buy anything full-price. Why pay so much when you know it's going to go on sale in like a week?

:::eight:::
I am very patriotic, I tear up when I hear the National Anthem or any other patriotic song. I couldn't be more proud to share my life with a U.S. Navy Sailor.

:::nine:::
I feel like I come across pretty sweet and innocent on my blog, but I am not afraid to put a person in their place. I am pretty blunt about things, but in a classy way.

:::ten:::
I am a true Scorpio; the good, the bad, and the ugly (loyal, independent, observant, determined, passionate, jealous, obsessive, compulsive, suspicious, manipulative.)

:::eleven:::
I love the color blue. No matter what I do, I can't stray away from it. I'm also obsessed with stripes. It never fails that whenever I go shopping, I am immediately drawn to anything with stripes or anything nautical looking.

Now, here are my answers to Sara's questions :)

1.  What is your favorite song?
Right now, I am really digging 'The One that got Away' by Jake Owen and I always love 'What I Love about Sunday' by Craig Morgan and 'Sweet Southern Comfort' by Buddy Jewell.

2.  What country would you love to visit and why?
I would love to visit Australia. I feel like they are kind of Switzerland when it comes to world conflict. I just want to move to the Outback and never have to hear another thing about war.

3.  Do you have a show that you watch religiously each week?
I love Gossip Girl (I read the entire series of books long before it became a tv show), Glee, Army Wives (I've been an extra on the show 4 times!), and House Hunters International. I am also dvr-ing Breaking Amish and 19 Kids and Counting right now hah. S and I have shows that we watch together like American Pickers, Pawn Stars, Storage Wars. etc. :p

4.  Do you have any hobbies?
Shopping? Haha, I can't really say that I do. I love going sailing, is that a hobby? I wish I did, but working full-time doesn't really leave me much time to do the little crafty, DIY things I would love to TRY to do. Right now my hobbies include working, cleaning my house, doing laundry, and taking care of my sailor.

5.  What do you love most about blogging?
The thing that I love most about blogging is connecting with others that have the same interests as me that I would normally never meet. I also enjoy connecting with people that live in my community and reading about their experiences here in the lowcountry.

6.  If you could eat one food every day, what would it be?
Oh man, I have a huge sweet tooth, so probably ice cream or something like that. No, I'll make it a little healthier, TCBY frozen yogurt. And avocados.

7.  What is your favorite holiday?
This question makes me a little sad... I would have to say that my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love nothing more than having a warm home full of family and good food. My mom always cooks on Thanksgiving then after dinner, her whoooole family (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents) would come over for dessert. The reason why it makes me sad is because now that I live 14 hours away from home, it isn't really cost effective to fly home for Thanksgiving AND Christmas so I have to choose and I choose Christmas. Luckily, since I have S, I am able to go home with him to Kentucky for Thanksgiving and his family is just as close and warm and welcoming as mine so it helps to make up for a little bit<3

8.  Do you have any pet peeves?
I could go on and on and on. Do you have about 14 hours to read my response? A couple off the top of my head include leaving the top off the toothpaste, not responding to my text messages, when people make annoying noises while eating, people smoking outside the entrance to a building...there are too many to name.

9.  What is your favorite movie?  (you know I had to ask since I LOVE movies) :-)
Keep in mind, I am not exactly a movie buff and tend to stick to light-hearted comedies, dramas, etc. I love Dirty Dancing, and a couple that I have watched over and over include 13 Going on 30, The Devil Wears Prada, My Father the Hero (remember that one?), Blue Crush, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Failure to Launch. Pretty deep, huh? I also love Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Hunger Games.

10.  Do you have a favorite article of clothing that you wear all of the time?
I have a lot of striped clothing... In the summer, I love wearing my Reef flippies, lots of flowy dresses, tank tops and denim shorts. I hate wearing cold weather clothes, but I'm a fan of sweaters, skinny jeans, and boots.

11.  Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I'm totally lame when it comes to staying up late these days so I would probably have to say morning person. I feel more productive when I got to bed earlier and wake up early. I enjoy daylight and vitamin D.
My quesitons for the nominees:

1. Do you have any pets? Tell me about them.
2. What's the coolest place you ever visited?
3. What do you love most about where you live right now?
4. What would be your dream job?
5. What do you do to make yourself feel better when you're having a bad day?
6. What's your sign?
7. What is your favorite sport and team within that sport?
8. Mac or PC?
9. If you were stranded on a deserted island, and could have three things from home, what would they be? (people don't count)
10. What's your favorite Yankee Candle?
11. What's the worst/best gift you ever received?

The end.

My nominees are......
Ashley @ Ashley Riah.
(That, is a lot of Lindse(a)ys and Ashleigh(y)s!!)

Done and done! Thanks again, Sara, and cheers to my nominees! :)

Stopping by from the walkabout....I'm the same way with shopping. I can't tell you the last time I paid full price for much! I'm also a TRUE scorpio, which means we both have birthdays right around the corner.

Congrats on your award! I love reading posts like this! I read that you didn't like to read as a kid but you do now! I LOOOVEE to read! What types of books do you like?

I love listening to country too! I wish there were more country stations around here though (you would think there would be since I live in Texas! But there is only 2!)

What do you think of Breaking Amish so far? A co-worker told me about it a few weeks ago and I have been watching it and it's both hilarious and sad at the same time. Kate (I think that is her name, the one who stole the other girl, Rebeccas' dentures!) is kind of a bitch. I thought it was crazy how Abe and Rebecca's family showed up to take them back home?

I wish I was a morning person like you are!
