On a happier note..

There are two things coming up that I am VERY excited about!! I guess the important thing here would be to just focus on what's important and fun and exciting, right? :)

At the end of this month, S and I are going to Kentucky (where he is from) to go to Keeneland! If you know anything about horse racing, you might know that Keeneland is the name of a track in Lexington, KY. There are two meets each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. We didn't get to go to the spring meet so we promised to go to the fall one, which happens to be this month! We are heading up to KY on 10/24-10/28 and hope to attend on both the 26th and 27th. So now, the fun part begins! What am I going to wear??!?!?

I have never been to a race before! We were in KY over Derby weekend, but we didn't end up going because we didn't get tickets early enough and they were VERY expensive. We could've gotten infield tickets, but from what I've heard, that's just a shit show and I'm all set with that!

I have a really nice pair of brown Coach riding boots so I will probably wear those (unless I gets some new boots beforehand.....) and a dress. I'm not exactly sure how the weather is going to be though. I've been to KY in the winter and spring, but never autumn. I'm thinking that if it's too cold for a dress, I could always throw a cardigan or jacket over it and put on some tights. Does anyone know anything about this and have any suggestions???

The next super-exciting event is the Navy Chrismas party!! It is going to be held on November 30 at the SC Aquarium. Some of you may think this is an odd venue for a Christmas party, but there are actually quite a few events held there. I'm REALLY looking forward to it! So the next order of business after Keeneland is finding a dress for that. I was kind of thinking about renting a dress from Rent the Runway. Do any of yall have any experience with that? I've heard some good things so I think it could work out really well. I forsee having to attend many more events like this in the future yet pointless to have to drop $100+ on a dress that I'll probably never wear again. I've had my eye on this little Nicole Miller number....

I mean it is kind of a lot to spend considering you don't get to keep anything, however, it does state that it's a $750 dress and who else is going to have something like that??! I went to my first Navy ball earlier this year so I think I have the attired figured out for that. The Christmas party is going to be more of a ball and S said think formal so I think this would work!

Anyone else have anything exciting like this coming up??

**Shout-out** Linds, I know you're going to be like 8 months preggers, but do you think you all will go??! Haha :p

The aquarium is going to be a beautiful venue!!!! For Keenland, I would wear tights (possibly even leggings) under your dress if it's chilly!

Yes, we're going! I actually ordered my potential Christmas party dress. It's made like maternity shirts with the ruched sides, so I hope it works. I actually tried it on at Forever21 and regretted not buying it, so I ordered it online. When I tried it on in the store I got a bigger size and pushed my stomach out as big as I could, so hopefully it'll still fit at the end of November. Here's the link: http://www.forever21.com/product/product.aspx?br=F21&category=dress&productid=2000027023&variantid=. I don't know if I'm going to freeze or what, but I'm on the lookout for tights or something to wear with it. I also have no idea for shoes, but I have time to figure that out. And if it doesn't fit, at least it was only $25. And I can wear it in the future. But then I have to start looking later. Let's just pray it fits. Hahahahaha!

Also, the other Christmas parties I've been too haven't been as formal as the balls, but that doesn't mean this one won't be because of the venue. Maybe I'll be under dressed, but like you said, I'll be 8 months pregnant, so people can suck it. Lol!

What a fun time Keeneland sounds like! Your riding boots and dress sound like a perfect outfit for the day! That dress is gorgeous and I would definitely try renting it. I have bought so many dresses for the Marine Corps Balls in the past and never wear them again. How fun to be able to wear a $750 dress too :) I say go for it!
