In full-fledged Christmas spirit!

Many of you shared gifts that you have bought/ plan on buying for your significant other and I thought I would share what I have in mind for S. He is an avid golfer and a huge UK fan so he's not too hard to shop for :)

The first thing I thought of and am definitely getting him:

He not so subtly hinted that he wanted one of these (he doesn't know it yet, but I was already planning on buying him a new one)

He really needs... (the case that it is)

I know he really wants this, but not sure if I"m going to get it for him yet..

A few other ideas I've had for him...

I think this could be a great idea for a guy.. Did I mention that I recently subscribed? I'm super excited and I think a lot of guys would love to get a little package in the mail every month with some goodies to try out. Don't get me wrong though, by no means is S the metro type (totally the hunting, fishing, hiking, manly-man-type), but I think he would still secretly like this ;)

I can't wait for S to come to Connecticut this year (I went to Kentucky last year) and we are still planning a trip to snowy Vermont for New Year's :) I still can't believe that I will be able to go home for over two weeks (16 days total). Just one more reason why I LOVE my job. I don't even think my teacher friends can say that!

He won't actually get there until a couple days after Christmas, but will still be there for at least a week. We have yet to get a tree for our apartment (it will probably be a mini tree this year) and I am sooo excited to go to the Festival of Lights at James Island County Park again this year. My favorite part is the fire pits where you can make s'mores, my favoriteeeee<3

From two years ago:

Who doesn't love Christmas lights on palm trees?

Last, but not least, tonight is the Navy Christmas Ball! I'm leaving work a little early to get ready and cocktail hour starts at 1900 sharp. There may or may not be a little pre-gaming going on before that ;) We picked out a new suit for S last night as they are not required to wear their dress uniforms to this event and he looks super sharp and handsome, can't wait!

Pictures to come!

Hope y'all enjoy your Friday and the weekend! Anyone have any fun plans???

Thursday's Featured Blogs!

I slacked off last Thursday because of Thanksgiving and I never did post a TFB post (even though I said I would, oops!) I'm making up for it now though :)

This week, I am happy to announce my five featured blogs:

Sarah @ Love, SJE

I highly enjoy keeping up with all of these lovely ladies and recommend you go check them out as soon as possible!

In other news, I received the dress (and back-up dress) that I rented for S's holiday party. I quickly found once I tried them both on that neither were going to work :( The red dress that I rented was too small and I couldn't zip up the side zipper. On the black one, the straps were way too loose and it was a bit low-cut for my taste and for a military function.

I called Rent the Runway first thing this morning and they got right on sending me out two more dresses (for free except shipping) to try out. I am very excited and just know that one of them will work! I also have the cutest Nine West shoes that I got a couple years ago that are perfect for a holiday party and I can't wait to wear them again.

The alternate dresses: Shoshanna (pockets and a bow?! I'm sold!)

Milly:

The Milly dress has a scoop back with a bow at the bottom, very cute.

I'm also very excited to go hang with our friends Heather (my old roommate) and her fiance, Will, tonight. They have a Brittany Spaniel named Jackson who I just know Gunner is going to LOVE. I think S and I will be relieved as well after he plays out some of that energy with his new friend.

Hope y'all are enjoying your Thursday (almost Friday!!) Cheers!

Since I'm liking up for 'Isn't that Pinteresting', I decided to share some of the items on my Christmas wish list :)

This first one I was going to get for myself, but then I had to get a new computer so I don't think it's going to happen for a while..

With a "k" though (obviously)

And last, but not least.....

Birthday pressies!

I just realized that I never shared with you all what S got me for my birthday last week :)

Side note: I had bought myself a pair of Ray-Ban Original Wayfarers a couple years ago, but when I moved, they mysteriously disappeared. I won't get into what I really think happened.

So, I was asking my old roommate recently if she remembered seeing them anywhere and she hadn't so I was kind of bummed out that they went missing. Then, my birthday rolled around and I got these!

They aren't the "original" Wayfarers, they are the updated/modern ones? I like them just the same though. They are very cute and S did a good job picking them out :) I also vow to never lose them.

S's birthday is coming up around the corning as well (Dec. 1) and funny story, I had already planned on buying him a new pair of shades. He has mentioned on several occasions that he wants a pair of Costas and these are the ones I picked out.

Hope he likes them!

What do you all have picked out for your boyfriends/hubbys/significant others for the holidays?

*Weekend Update*

Sorry I'm posting so late today, it took me quite a while to get through reading all of your wonderful posts since last Wednesday! We had a great Thanksgiving and it sounds like everyone else did, too.

We spend Wed-Sat in Kentucky at S's mamaw and papaw's house. It is always very low key so we didn't do much other than hang out at the house and visit with family. We did however, get to venture out on Friday night to the nearest movie theater, which was 45 minutes away, to see 'Breaking Dawn: Part 2' (the boys saw the new Bond movie). Did any of y'all see Breaking Dawn? I thought it was the best one yet.

I actually really liked the ending. S's mom and cousin are convinced that there is going to be another one, but I'm not sure. I would be okay with it ending like it did. We looked it up online to see if we could find any buzz about another movie, but it sounds like there will not be unless Stephanie Meyer decides to write a sixth book.

I didn't take too many pictures, but I do have a few to share.

Gunner just did not want to stay in the backseat by himself, he wanted to ride up front with us so bad :p

Arm rest or puppy rest? Who can say no to that face?

We made a quick pitstop at CVS on the way and I couldn't leave without buying this little Christmas sweater for the puppy. Good thing it was only $6.99 because he'll probably grow out of it within a week.

It was so cute, it didn't even seem to phase him that we put this sweater on him.

Middle of nowhere, Appalachia.

The prettiest mountain views on the way home, pictures just don't do them justice.

We decided to come home early on Saturday so we would have some time to unwind before having to come back to work today. I am definitely grateful for that extra day! Hope you all have a great week!

Thankful.

I'm so thankful for my amazing family and friends; my sweet, handsome, and loving Shaun; a warm (or cool when it's SC hot) home; a great new job that I love; and last but not least, Shaun's family (who may as well be my family) for having me over to celebrate Thanksgiving now two years in a row. Hope you are all having a great day, Happy Thanksgiving (y'all)!

PS - Guess his cover is blown, "S" is Shaun ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! (and Photo Catch-up Day Part 2!)

Holidays always make me so nastalgic and what could be more nastalgic than Snoopy! Hope yall have a wonderful, wonderful day full of food, family, friends, love, and fun.

Now, on to the next set of pics :)
As you all know, we went to Gatlinburg, TN last weekend for S's brother's wedding. Here is the proof.

The main living room of the lodge that was rented out for the wedding and also where we stayed.

I couldn't get over the furniture and decor, it must have costed a forture to decorate that place!

S and his brothers and mom.. (this is a player piano, but we fooled sooo many people that weekend hehe)

Downtown Gatlinburg.

Birthday flowers from S's family :) They are the best and I was am so blessed to have had a wonderful birthday even though it fell on the same day as the wedding....

The magnificant kitchen...I want one of these one day!
Ahh, my Kentucky boy..

I ended up wearing the blue one! The burgundy one was really, really pretty, but a little too long for me. I think I probably could have even gone a size down. While I was also going for something a little on the conservative side, the burgundy one was almost too conservative. (S's cousin took some great photos of us with her fancy shmancy camera, but hasn't sent them to me yet)

The groom.

Here comes the bride!

My Sailor, my heart.
I do!

S giving his "best man" speech :)

Since everything wrapped up early, we headed out for a night on the town to finish celebrating my birthday!
(S and his adorable cousin)

Oops, S caught a little off guard :p The bride and groom met us out for a drink...

The beautful lodge.

The Great Smokey Mountains!

The end.

Hope you are all enjoying your day! Can't wait to hear all about it :)
