Just an FYI, I posted a new giveaway over the weekend, check it out here!!
I never really did a re-cap of Valentine's Day so I'll include it in my weekend update post :)
Since we attended the Gala on Thursday, we didn't go out to eat or anything like that. Even if we hadn't attended the Gala, S was scheduled to stand duty that night anyway so it still wouldn't have been a big to-do. S stopped and surprised me though at work in the afternoon and brought me a beautiful rose, a very thoughtful card, and some goodies :)
I got S a new coffee mug for his new office at work :)
The Gala was held in the Charleston Place ballroom and it was basically a big art show. The artists were all present so you could talk with them about their artwork, which was pretty neat and several pieces were auctioned off throughout the night. There were also many very impressive sculptures, all wildlife related.
I ended up going with a pair of chandelier earrings that I bought a few years ago from JCrew along with my gold sequined clutch, gold shoes, and pearl bracelet. I'm glad I was able to work with items I already owned and saved myself some money :)
At the last minute, I decided that I didn't want to wear my hair down and tried a "sock" bun for the first time. I was surprised that I was actually able to pull it off and with a little lot of hairspray and some bobby pins, it stayed looking pretty good all night!
The dress...
Cute little desserts!
The girls!
Handsome<3
Believe it or not, S was not the only one doing this (picture several other grown men in tuxes taking turns lol) and the artist stood close by watching, they did not get in trouble.
Like prom :p
After the Gala, we headed over to the Gin Joint for a couple more libations before heading home for the night. Good thing I got permission to go into work late the next day! Sorry for all the terrible iPhone pics, I could not find my camera charger therefore I left our good camera at home :(
On Saturday, we headed out to Marion Square for SEWE, but we weren't really feeling it since it was really windy and cold out. Just as we decided to drive over to Brittlebank Park for the Doc Dogs competition, it started down pouring so we just ended up going home.
Later that evening, we met up with some friends for dinner downtown at Mellow Mushroom then skipped over to Coast for some delicious mojitos. We also checked out the new rooftop bar, Stars, at the end of the night. It was really nice, but REALLY loud inside and it wasn't even that crowded. The rooftop bar was awesome, but it was wayy too cold to stay out there.
Hawaiian Peach mojito at Coast, YUM!
Sunday was pretty uneventful, I went to Body Pump and Trader Joe's then called it a night.
What did y'all do this weekend???
