**Fitness Friday: Week 24!**

Happy Friday, ya'll! I'm so excited for this weekend - we are going to see Jason Aldean and Jake Owen here in Charleston tonight then headed up to Columbia tomorrow for my old roommate's wedding. I'm really looking forward to both, should be a GREAT time.

My dress for the wedding (still lovinggg Shoshanna!)

As you know, it is Fitness Friday and we are also linking up still for 50 in 30!

Yesterday, I linked up with Nikki for 30 in 30 and at that point, I had 3.25 miles for the week. I went for a great run last night after work and banged out another 3.01 miles.

Total for the week - 6.26
Total for the month - 15.67

Looks like I shouldn't have any problem hitting the 30 mile mark, but still pushing for 50!!
I also attended two Body Pump classes this week - feeling good! I'm hoping to get in a quick little run tomorrow morning, too, before we head off to Columbia.

Tonight before the concert, we are getting together with a few friends to tailgate. We are picking up some delicious barbeque from Jim N Nick's (one of my faves) and I decided to bring a healthy salad along as well. This would be a great salad to bring along to a cookout or to have anytime during the week :)

Greek Salad with Homemade Greek Dressing

Salad ingredients:
1 cucumber, quartered and sliced into chunks
2 roma tomatoes, diced
2-3 oz. crumbled feta cheese
2 tbsp. red onion, chopped
1/4 c. greek dressing

Dressing ingredients:
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
1.25 tsp fresh oregano, chopped (or dried)
1.25 tsp. fresh basil, chopped
1 small garlic clove
1/2 tsp. dijon mustard
1/4 tsp. honey
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper

Directions:
For the dressing, add to a seal-able jar (mason jars work perfectly) and shake to combine.
Chill in fridge for 10-15 minutes.

Add all chopped ingredients to a bowl and toss with dressing. Sprinkle feta cheese on top. Enjoy!

For added protein serve with grilled chicken or fish.

You can also easily double this recipe if you have a larger crowd (this is what I did!)

Special shout out to Ashley over at Turqoise & Teale for posting this on her blog recently :)

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

TGIF! I'm so happy for the weekend and although S has duty tomorrow (boooo) I am looking forward to some bright, sunshiney, warm weather today and tomorrow. Maybe I'll actually have a chance to work on my tan. I'm also getting a haircut tomorrow, which I'm super excited for because I haven't had my hair cut since December, before Christmas!

Feel free to join me and Lindsay and linkup for Fitness Friday and/ or 50 Miles in 30 Days!

This week, I got a 1.6 mile walk in on Wednesday as well as a 3.64 mile run for a total of 5.24 miles this week. Still behind, but I haven't given up!

I also just signed up for the Tone it Up Girls' Bikini Series. It's an 8-week program that will whip your butt into shape just in time for Summer. It's not too late to sign up!

Hope you all have had a great week. Any special plans for the weekend???

**FItness Friday, Week #20!**

TGIF!! I can't even begin to stress how happy I am this week that it's FRIDAY!! Tomorrow is the big move and I am sooo excited. I can't wait to get everything over to the new house and get settled. I think we are going to just be so much happier there.

(woo hoo, truck in the garage!!)

On that note, I've been terrible about keeping up with 50 Miles in 30 Days! I walked a little bit this week at work and hopefully I will again today (if it's not raining!)

This week, I have 1.8 for the walk I did yesterday for a total of 8.8 miles. I hope you are all keeping motivated even though I have dropped the ball haha.

Lindsay and I decided that we are going to keep up the 50 in 30 linkup for next month as well so if you didn't have a chance to hop on board this month, we will continue through May so you'll have another chance :)

Happy Fitness Friday y'all!

Hopefully everyone is off to another great month. As I mentioned yesterday, Lindsay and I have decided to incorporate '50 miles in 30 days' into Fitness Friday. Are you up for the challenge???

I'm not off to a very good start, but am looking forward to getting things going! How is everyone else doing so far?

Fitness Friday!

Honor Courage Commitment

Welcome back to Fitness Friday everyone!

Hope you all had a healthy, productive week :) The week got off to a slow start for me. I missed my workout on Monday and Tuesday (doctor advised me to lay low, everything is okay though).
Here we go -

Saturday - 30 minute run
Sunday - off
Monday - off
Tuesday - off
Wednesday - 30 minutes with trainer
Thursday - 30 minute run
For today, Friday, I'm planning a 30 minute run and 20 minutes strength training to make up for earlier in the week.

I've planned out our meals again for the week and they are as follows:

Monday - Spicy Sausage Pasta (that I didn't get to make this week)

Tuesday - Shrimp Stirfry

Wednesday - Grilled Salmon

Thursday - Bourbon St. Chicken (that I didn't get to make last week)

Friday - Grill Pizzas

Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I registered S and I to run the Color Me Rad race here in Charleston March 23. It's a 5k and I'm really looking forward to it! Not only am I anxious to run another race, but it just looks like soooo much fun.

Have you heard of it?

I haven't registered yet, but I also plan on doing the Cooper River Bridge Run in April. Me, S, and a bunch of our friends did it last year and I can't wait to do it again!

Exciting! Hoping for the best times yet this year!

What are your short term goals?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Fitness Friday!!

Happy Fitness Friday everyone and TGIF!

Honor Courage Commitment

How has your first full week of 2013 been? Hopefully most of you who have made resolutions to be healthy and get back in shape haven't fallen off the wagon yet. We are just getting started!

This week has been a little stressful for me in a couple different ways so I'm going to go ahead and admit that I haven't been the best myself. Today is the first day that I've been feeling better after fighting a pretty nasty cold, but I am looking forward to weather in the 70s for the next week and I am excited to get back out there!

I have some exciting news today - Lindsay AKA "Lins", from Domesticated Working Woman, contacted me recently and expressed an interest in co-hosting Fitness Friday. Who am I to turn down an opportunity to get the word out and hook up with someone else who is as excited about Fitness Friday as I am?! So here were are and make sure to pop on over to Lindsay's blog, too, to say "hello!"

Yesterday I was perusing Pinterest for some healthy recipes and came across a blog that my girl Elizabeth over at The Better Belle Project pinned (I also stole a bunch of her recipes hehe.)

The blog is:
Taralynn has such an inspirational story and features lots of healthy eating tips and recipes. This girl knows what she's talking about and has a LOT of dedication. I'm going to have to remind myself to read her story every time I need a boost in my own motivation!

I also picked out some great recipes for next week's dinners, some old and some new. Pinterest never fails me. I'm planning for:

Chicken Parm Burgers (minus the bread and with a salad)

Sausage Stuffed Zucchini Boats

Smokey Corn Chowder with Shrimp

Garlic & Brown Sugar Salmon (shown here w/ chicken)

and Bourbon St. Chicken.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a super fun weekend! As I mentioned before, we are grabbing dinner and seeing Blue Man Group on Saturday with friends and on Sunday, we are meeting up with S's parents to do a puppy swap and get Gunner back (he's been in Kentucky since before Christmas because of our traveling), I'm soooo excited to see his cute little face! I'm sure I'll probably just be amazed at how much he's grown over the past few weeks.

Does anyone have anything fun and exciting planned for this weekend??
